Daamn, did he get lucky that his ass didn’t get ejected from the game. When I was watching it live, I thought Harrison was pulling out his fists. Either way, it was a great game all throughout. It’s just too bad that officiating was shit on both sides but hats off to the Steelers for that. It’s also going to be annoying everytime a Steelers fan pulls out the 6th Superbowl card in a discussion. What a travesty.

Dating a Banker Anonymous

What a great site to make light of the economic situation that us Americans are heading into. There’s no way that the stories are all real but they’re great nevertheless. My favorite entry so far is Ain’t no messing with no broke banker.

The beauty of the NFL is that there is enough information, sources, and time for everyday individuals to make what seems like educated predictions. Most games are at least a week apart giving ample time for media sources to figure out the optimal game plan that a team should make. The critical key matchups of the game, statistics, and all that jazz comes to play. With all that given, the NFL is an extremely friendly sport to bet on as compared to say the NBA where there are too many games that a team plays in a week. Football is also much easier to analyze because of the nature of the game in that it’s a coaches game and if you happen to get lucky with your score board prediction, you’ll feel smart for a good bit.

So, on to the meat of the post. Arizona Cardinals vs Pittsburgh Steelers, with Steelers -6.5.

Will it hit the spread? My personal feeling towards that – 70% confident it will not. While my head that the Steelers will have an edge in winning this game, I doubt the spread wll hit because most of the matchups are actually even. Plus I’m rooting for the underdog here. I hate the thought of the Steeler nation rubbing in the fact that the franchise that they decide to bandwagon has attained their 6th ring. Let’s take a look…

Steelers Offense vs Cardinals Defense – In their playoff run, the Cardinals Defense was able to shutdown Atlanta Falcon’s Michael Turner, Carolina Panther’s Williams & Stewart duo, and Philly Iggles’ Westbrook – forcing their QBs to carry their offense. I’m confident that this trend will continue because all year long the Steelers has had trouble running the ball and even after running all over the Chargers’ Shawn Merriman-less defense, I’m not convinced that their run game has enough firepower to be productive. So the question becomes, how will Big Ben handle this game with a banged up Hines Ward? Which O-line is going to show up? Will Heath Miller and Santonio Holmes step up to the plate? I’d give the edge to the Cardinals here.

Cardinals Offense vs Steelers Defense – Through out the entire season, week in and week out, the Steelers D has showed up. It’s however asinine to annoint the 08′ Steelers group to be there with greats of their late 1970s D, 1985 Chicago Bears, and the 2000 Baltimore Ravens. Not even close – they’re more comparable to the 2006 Baltimore Ravens if anything. Same style of blitz pressure QB defense and same era. But I digress here, here to say that I expect the Steelers D to show up 100%. However, there is an interesting statistics that I’ve read from time to time that in this season, Kurt Warner’s stats against the blitz is pretty good but I don’t think the Steelers relies on blitzing to get pressure as much as people tend to believe so. That’s a huge question mark here. I’d give the Steelers a slight edge since they’ve been so reliable all season long.

Special Teams – Not much to say here, they’re quite even.

So the huge question mark here is, how will Kurt Warner and Ben going to handle against their respective matchups? My answer – Old Kurt Warner has been there and I don’t think Ben can keep up with him, not without Hines. Cardinals 24 – 20
